PALMISTRY

Palmistry is a fascinating subject. Which dates back at least three thousand years.It can be found referenced in many ancient Indian and Chinese writings, and is also refered to in many Western writings of the middle ages. Although often in connection to Astrology.

In fact a lot of the terms we use in Palmistry has been taken from Astrology, such as The Plain of Mars, Mount of Luna and the finger of Jupiter.

Some people believe that Palmistry is also referred to in the Old Testament, such as

"He sealeth the hand of every man that all may know his work"

Sometimes people ask me how your hand can represent your life and character as at the end of the day it is simply a lump of flesh and bone stuck on the end of your arm. The lines, they say, cannot represent anything as they are simply caused by the way you open and close your hand.

Actually that is not true.

The lines on your hand, just like everything else are formed before birth.

Here is an example of the thinking involved in palmistry.The cortex in the brain develops between the first and second trimester of pregancy, at the same time the fingers are also developing. The cortex has a lot to do with your personality. So whatever biochemical activity takes place in constructing your brain type (cortex) directly affects the simultaneous growth and development of your fingers.

Apparently scientists had conducted tests on sets of twins.One twin was perfectly normal and the other twin suffered from schizophrenia. The scientists found marked differences of the finger tips of the twins suffering certain types of schizophrenia.

Other people believe that the texture and colouring of your hand can also give clues to possible health issue's.

However in my opinion the most fascianting aspect of palmistry is in the ability to perceive a persons personality through studying their hands.

A FIRM HAND

A hand which is firm to the touch represents a very resourceful person. An indivudual who is able to adjust and react to situations quickly and efficiently. They are good survivors and can deal with just about anything that life can throw at them. They can be a bit tough on other's but can also be very firm on themselves. They are usually not very good at following advice.SOFT HANDSPeople with soft handshave an easier going approach to life than firm hands. Soft handed people can listen to, accept and benefit from the advice of others without their pride being dented and getting in the way. At least that is the theory.Inreality, they will appear to listen to your advice and then ignore you!

FLEXIBLE HANDS

Are people that are very easily bored. They need a lot of change and variety in their lives. Always looking for new ideas,projects and challenges to be involvedin.They must keep their mind activeor they will become bored very quickly. Which is bad for them and anightmare for those around them.

INFLEXIBLE HANDS.

Rigid, unbending hands are people that at the end of the day are simply looking for a stable routine to their life.Particularely their career and family life. In that way they do not need to be worried about earning a living,paying bills etc. Relationshipsmust also be stable for this person. They can be very unbending in their dealings with others and remarkably stubborn.
